Kim Clijsters to Have a Son in September

Former tennis player Kim Clijsters is pregnant with a boy.

The 29-year-old and husband Brian Lynch, who are expecting their second child, broke the news on Twitter.

"Baby is healthy and we found out we are having a boy! We are super happy!" Lynch, a former basketball player, wrote.

Fans and followers of the sports couple welcomed the news and shared their excitement and happiness.

"Congrats! Mixed dubs partners?" one of the comments read, while another one added: "Belated good wishes Kim. Brilliant news. Mum's the word!"

Later the mom-to-be came forward on Twitter to thank her more than 236,400 followers.

"Thanks everyone for all the messages regarding are news about us  having a boy!" she wrote, later adding more details about pregnancy and due date:  "Yes I am! 15 weeks now :-) due mid September."

The new addition will be joining the couple's elder daughter Jada Ellie (5).

After her break-up with fiancé, Australian tennis player Lleyton Hewitt in 2004, Clijsters got engaged to Lynch in 2006. The couple tied the knot in 2007. In Feb. 2007, they welcomed their first child, Ellie.

In Feb. 2013, Clijsters, who has grabbed the "World No.1 Women tennis player" title, both for singles and doubles announced her second pregnancy.

"Hi everyone, we have some exiting news to tell you... Jada is going to be a big sister :-) ! Xxx," she wrote, while announcing the news on Twitter, Feb.25.

The Belgian player, who officially retired after the 2012 US Open in August, had earlier expressed her wish to have a big family.

"We would love to have more children but I think for now my goal is to try to make it to the Olympics in London 2012," she told CNN, in 2010. "Obviously Jada's going to have to go to school at some point as well, so that's really important to us and I didn't come back to play tennis to put my family situation in a bad situation. But as long as it's going well and it's working for us then we'll keep going."
