Suspect In Death Of Yoga Instructor Claims She Was Suicidal; Washington DC Actress Wanting To Have Sex Before Suicide?

The man suspected of killing a Washington, D.C. yoga instructor and actress claimed that she was suicidal and she hanged herself. The man added that before she killed herself, she invited him to have sex with her.

In the new documents filed regarding the case, ABC News reported that the suspect, identified as Adrian Duane Johnson, was arraigned on Wednesday afternoon at the D.C. Superior Court. The victim was identified as 46-year-old Tricia McCauley.

McCauley went missing over the Christmas holiday and was found strangled in her car on Tuesday morning. Johnson has since been charged with first-degree murder.

The legal team for Johnson requested a preliminary hearing and the judge handling the case ruled that he will remain in custody until his next court appearance, which is on Jan. 13, due to a probable case of murder. Authorities said that McCauley texted her friends at 4:30 p.m. noting that she was on her way to a huge Christmas dinner, which she always went to but missed once due to oversleeping. Her friends did not make so much of a fuss that she did not make it but they were all alarmed when she missed her flight to visit her family the next day.

Johnson told investigators that he met McCauley after she offered him a ride. She then offered to have sex with him and that they had sex on a curb. He could not remember where that was and then Johnson claimed that McCauley became emotional, AOL.com reported. She then fatally hung herself while he was standing outside of the woman's car.

Johnson said upon discovery, he drove her car around, used her credit card, then picked up a prostitute. He noted that he did not believe McCauley was dead instead he thought she was just asleep.

The medical examiner who examined McCauley's body found blunt force trauma to the back of the victim. Ligature marking was also found on her neck and it was believed that she was violently sexually assaulted. The cause of death was said to be ligature strangulation and blunt force trauma.

McCauley was a stand-in for Jenna Dewan Tatum for "Step Up." She tweeted about the death of McCauley calling the actress and yoga instructor as a sweet person.
