'Ocean Waves' One Of The Best Japanese Animated Movie Made Available To US Viewers!

The "Ocean Waves" is rarely seen and viewed outside Japan. It is then an honor and great opportunity for US viewers to witness this Japanese marvel. The animated movie is about adolescence and everything that comes alongside growing up.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, the movie "Ocean Waves" is about the character Taku and his bestfriend Yutaka are headed back to school as they prepare to embark on yet another normal and uneventful year. However, much to their surprise, their friendship is tested by the arrival of Rikako.

The movie "Ocean Waves" then continue on as Rikako captivates the hearts of both Taku and Yutaka. She is a beautiful new transfer student from Tokyo. She is known to have ever-changing attitude from being friendly to melancholic and pensive.

Taku then joins Rikako on a trip to Tokyo. As word gets around, the whole student body in their school had gossips and rumors about the two flying left and right. This brought the three characters, Taku, Yutaka and Rikako come to terms with their changing relationships.

This may seem a typical adolescent plot where one teenager falls for another one which is in conflict with another party. It is normal for adolescent to be admiring someone even at the risk of other people's feelings, especially that of a friend. This conflict is presented in the movie "Ocean Waves."

However, this is animated movie scored the highest in Rotten Tomatoes "Tomatometer" with a perfect and impressive rating of 100 percent. This is exemplary as this movie is one of the very few to get a full 100 percent rating.

The animated movie features the voices of Japanese talents such as Nobuo Tobita, Toshihiko Seki, Yoko Sakamoto. They are also joined by Yuri Amano and Kae Araki.

Brian Tallerico of RogerEbert.com said that the movie is a delicate, well-told drama that may lack the depth of something like Only Yesterday but proves that Miyazaki and Takahata's students were listening to their teachers. The movie "Ocean Waves" definitely sat well with critics.

As added by Movie Insider, the movie "Ocean Waves" is adapted from a novel of the same name by Saeko Himuro and was originally made back in 1993 for Japanese Television. The movie had its New York and Los Angeles release on Dec. 28, 2016.
