Is Caesarian Section Not Considered Giving Birth? Photographer Believes So And Turns Down Mother Who Seeks Her Services

An expectant mother was trying to look for someone who can record her delivery since photography during giving birth has become quite popular. However, the expectant mother divulged she will be having a Caesarian section and the photographer turned her down because she believes the surgery is not similar to giving birth via the natural way.

The mother, who is not being named, contacted the birth photographer and the conversation was posted on Breastfeeding Mama Talk's Facebook page. Per the screen shot, the photographer assumed she chose to have C-section over giving birth the natural away and the woman said she did not opt for the surgery and she had no idea birth photographers discriminated against people for how they deliver their babies, Independent Journal Review reported.

The photographer then responded a surgery is not birth because the expectant mother is having a surgery to remove the baby from her abdomen. The photographer added, "That is not birth no matter how you swing it, and I for one don't want to be there to take pictures of it." The photographer also told the expectant mother if she decides to give motherhood a go and have a vaginal birth, she could contact the photographer and they could schedule her session.

The photographer continued to message the expectant mother saying motherhood job is difficult and advised she should think twice about starting such a job by cutting corners early in the game. Some of the mothers commented on Facebook saying she had three Caesarian deliveries in the past and regardless if one gave birth via the C-section or vaginal, all women gave life and that is the ultimate sacrifice.

Other mothers defended the woman saying C-section is a major operation not to be taken lightly. The image showing the exchange of messages was shared more than a thousand times, Daily Mail reported.

Centers for Disease Control said in 2014 there were nearly 1.3 million Caesarean deliveries. This made up one-third of all the births in the United States.
