How 'Ghost In The Shell' Star Scarlett Johansson Balances Life As A Working Single Mother

Scarlett Johansson is one of Hollywood's top female stars but she's also a mom to a 2-year-old daughter named Rose with ex-husband Romain Dauriac. The "Ghost in the Shell" actress reveals balancing life as a working single mother is easy for now since her child is still young.

Johansson said she's fortunate she can bring Rose to the set with her. She could switch from acting in front of the cameras and breastfeeding her baby conveniently because of this setup.

"I have a job that's very advantageous in that way," Johansson said, as per The List. "I can parent and then go do the scene and go back and parent," she said.

Johansson says having Rose near her reach while she worked is helping her stay grounded and in touch with what matters in real life. At the end of a long and demanding day on the set, the actress relishes on hanging with her child.

Bringing Rose to work with her has its perks as well because it's like a bonding moment for the mom-and-daughter pair. She told Entertainment Tonight how Rose had fun walking around the historical set of her last hosting job on "Saturday Night Live," an institution on television. "It was just really cool to share my job with her, it's exciting for me," Johansson said.

Meanwhile, as Johansson might have an easy time balancing work and motherhood, she's facing a challenging divorce and custody battle against Dauriac. Johansson wants primary custody of Rose but her ex-husband's lawyers said Rose would be better off living in France with her dad, Page Six reported.

Dauriac's lawyers said the actress travels a lot for work and while she brings Rose with her all the time, the dad is concerned his daughter would always adjust to her mom's Hollywood schedules. Johansson remained tight-lipped over her divorce and the custody battle. When the couple announced their divorce last month, the actress requested for privacy.
