It's that time of year again, your child's birthday. It only seemed yesterday that you found out you were pregnant. How time has flown by, unbelievable. But this time, you are not able to celebrate your kid's birthday the way you used to. With the pandemic striking the whole world, you're not able to invite all your kids' friends. But there is no need to worry, we have 3 tips to throw an awesome birthday party for your kid which they will love.

1. Big decorations

Having fun is really important, but what's more important to kids is the way the party looks. Kids want to see all kinds of decorations. Big balloons, helium balloons or even a bouncy castle.

It might also be super fun to do an activity together, and what's more fun than baking cookies and decorating them together? This kind of birthday party is ideal for families to have a day of good old fun!

2. Choose a theme

Let your kid choose a theme where all the kids have to stick to. This could be anything. From Paw {atrol to a princess theme, anything is possible. Is your child's birthday close to Halloween? Have a Halloween themed party and dress your child up with the scariest Halloween costume (Dutch: halloween kostuum) you can find. There are many costumes to find online for any theme. Take for example, animal costumes, pirate costumes or even Oktoberfest clothes (Dutch: oktoberfest kleding).

3. Go for a picnicking in a park

Another fun possible birthday-adventure is going picnicking in the park. With some distance, you're able to invite all of your friends. Ask everyone to bring their own blanket. Prepare some lovely finger food beforehand which you can then bring to the park. Don't forget to buy plastic or bamboo plates and cutlery. This will save you some time doing dishes. You can even bring games such as a frisbee or a bat to play cricket. Don't forget to bring your speakers to blast some music and the vibe is set to enjoy a lovely, sunny birthday party in the park!
