‘Pokémon GO’ Tips & Tricks: 3 Best Ways To Get Pikachu

Pikachu is the most popular Pokémon character of the media franchise since its conception. It makes sense that "Pokémon GO" trainers would want to get the cute, Electric Type creature. We compiled the three best ways to acquire Pikachu.

Pikachu is strongest when it battles Water and Flying Type Pokémon, according to Ranked Boost. The creature, however, is weak against Pokémon that are Dragon, Grass, Ground, and Steel Type. Pikachu's CP can go as high as 887.69.

Given that it's an Electric Type Pokémon, Pikachu can be found in industrial parks, railways, universities or college campuses, dry and largely concrete residential areas, and commercial shopping districts. Keep in mind, however, that finding Pikachu in those sites is rare.

One of the best ways to have Pikachu in "Pokémon GO" is to choose it as your starter Pokémon. Parent Herald previously reported that "Pokémon GO" allows first-time players to pick their starter Pokémon from three options, but none of those include Pikachu.

To get Pikachu, trainers should dismiss the first three choices. After 2-5 re-spawns, Pikachu will pop up.

If you already picked your starter Pokémon and you want to replace it with Pikachu, you can do so by clearing all the "Pokémon GO" data in your device's Application Manager and re-install the app. This method, however, will make you lose all your progress in the game.

Another way to get Pikachu is to hatch it from an Egg. According to Otaku Kart, "Pokémon GO" trainers need to hatch a 2km egg and reach a certain CP level before looking for Pikachu.

Otaku Kart noted that this trick is the best way to get Pikachu because there are a lot of Pikachu Candy lying everywhere. The item increases Pikachu's level and bolsters its strength. With 50 Pikachu Candy, you can evolve it into Raichu.

The third trick you can do to get Pikachu is to use Incense in an unused area, meaning there are no PokéStops, Gyms, or Pokémon lying around. Incense is an item that helps you attract more Pokémon for 30 minutes.

If you do this method properly, the "Pokémon GO" system will generate a random Pokémon like Pikachu instead of the ones appearing usually on your screen. This trick, however, can take some time.
