‘Pokémon GO’ Guide, Tips & Tricks: The Best & Worst Times To Catch Pokémon

Many "Pokémon GO" players have dedicated their efforts on figuring out how the popular game works. Now, it turns out that there is a specific time of day when players encounter more Pokémon than the usual amount.

According to an analysis of more than 500,000 Pokémon encounters, the creatures' appearance are distributed equally throughout the day, but there are specific times of the day when encounters are at its peak, Pokémon GO Hub reported. The peak number of Pokémon spawns appears at around 9 PM local time, while the lowest number happens at 12 AM local time.

Pokémon GO Hub also found that more Pokémon tend to appear in the last two minutes of the hour. Other times of the day yield less Pokémon such as in the 40th and 41st minute of the hour.

The analysis stressed that Pokémon will appear in the wild all the time, but there are specific times when you can really set your sights on hunting and catching the creatures. Pokémon GO Hub also made an hour-by-hour breakdown of the best times to catch every Pokémon in the game. As expected, players encounter Caterpie, Drowzee, Eevee, Pidgey, Rattata, and Zubat the most in "Pokémon GO."

Pokémon GO Champ published a Pokémon spawn rate chart similar to Pokémon GO Hub's. The data is taken from Poké Radar's prediction algorithm dataset and is touted as highly accurate.

Charizard, for instance, spawns the most at 1:34 PM local time, while Growlithe appears the most at 3:57 AM local time and Exeggutor pops up more commonly at 12:34 PM. Refer to Pokémon GO Champ's report for the complete list.

Catching Pokémon can be made easy if you know how to use the Nearby & Sightings features in "Pokémon GO" work. You will see that feature when you begin walking on the map, with a tiny gray box visible on the screen's right side. Tapping that gray box will show up to nine Pokémon in your local area, iMore reported.

The Nearby section also displays a local PokéStop where the Pokémon can be caught. You can take a quick peek of the PokéStop by zooming up. Afterwards, you can head there and try to capture the Pokémon. Be careful, though, because the Pokémon might take flight if you don't get to the PokéStop in time.
