Beyoncé Breaks Silence To Gush Over & Discuss Mom Tina Knowles In Rare Interview

It's quite well-known in show business that Beyoncé doesn't grant interviews often. The superstar has mastered the art of keeping her life private while still getting regular media mileage. The "Lemonade" hitmaker, however, has recently broken her silence to talk about her mom Tina Knowles.

Tina was profiled in The New York Times' Fashion & Style section this week and who else could attest to the woman's contribution, influence and impact but her own daughters, Beyoncé, 35, and Solange, 30. The eldest of Tina's girls granted the NYT an email interview to gush about her stylish and creative mother's accomplishments.

In the email, Beyoncé wrote her mom is constantly "invested in making women feel beautiful." The Grammy winning-singer also said that Tina made sure that she and her sister grew up with "positive, powerful, strong images of African and African-American art so that we could reflect and see ourselves in them."

Beyoncé's sister Solange agrees their mom has become a great role model for them as young girls, citing their "awakening" was thanks to Tina. "My mother has a very special way of communicating, a very special channel that she speaks through that has always felt bigger than her," Solange said.

According to Essence, Tina had been responsible for creating her daughters' fabulous dresses for their shows. She has gone back to designing following her divorce from the girls' father, Matthew Knowles, in 2011 after three decades of marriage.

Tina has already remarried to actor and teacher Richard Lawson, who is helping her write her autobiography. She is also working with her husband in establishing an acting workshop for aspiring kids who are underprivileged.

In 2012, Beyonce posted a letter for her mom on her official site as her Mother's Day honor. She told Tina she's thankful for the sacrifices and she's one proud daughter.
