Samsung Galaxy S7 Specs & Release Date: Dual Camera, Magnesium Alloy & Holograph Coming! -- Features Round Up [Rumors]

Samsung is reportedly working on the new Galaxy S7 smartphone and will have it released earlier than expected. Various rumors regarding the new flagship smartphone circulate over the internet.

According to a report from Sam Mobile, two Geek Benchmarks have the name "Samsung" in them, and both are believed to be different variations of the new smartphone.

One of them, codenamed "Samsung Project Lucky," will have 3 GB of RAM and an Exynos M1 chipset. Additionally, it has eight custom processor cores that reach processing speeds of up to 1.5 Ghz. Single core scores have been recorded at 1532, and its multi-core score is 5434.

The other one, "Samsung LUCKY-LTE," is also powered by the same Exynos M1 chipset, and has LTE support according to GforGames. This one has 4GB of RAM. The recorded single core score is 1409, while the multi-core score is 4882.

iSchoolguide reports that the Galaxy S7 may also come in two hardware configurations, with the phone either having an Exynos M1 or an Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset powering it.

Ubergizmo reports that rumors regarding the phone's construction say that prototypes are already in development, and are made out of magnesium alloy and possess a unibody design, making it Samsung's first full-metal smartphone -- as the S6 cannot be called a full-metal phone due to the glass on its back.

Korean news website iNews24 reports that Samsung will go with magnesium alloy as it is light yet durable, weighing 65 percent lighter than aluminum but 2.8 times tougher. This isn't the first time that a Samsung smartphone has been rumored to be made of magnesium alloy, so fans should just wait for it to be released.

Patently Mobile reports that the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office has released a patent application from Samsung, showing a smartphone that is capable of displaying a hologram, and/or using holographic icons.

According to Valuewalk, other specifications include a unique dual-camera system. HTC Corp. tried pushing this technology with the HTC One M8, but was unsuccessful. Samsung, successful in introducing new technology to smartphones, like curved screens,  is currently contemplating the use of the dual-camera system for its new phone.

Additional specs that have been suggested say that the Galaxy S7 will feature a quad HD display, which ends speculations about Samsung having a 4K resolution for its new phone. It will have a 16-megapixel rear mounted camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Valuewalk adds that when previous Galaxy smartphone releases are considered, it's likely that a 64GB storage will be the minimum available, as a 128GB option hasn't been offered by Samsung for this generation.

GforGames reports that the new Samsung flagship will be released February 2016.
