A young Brazilian mother dies after giving birth to twins. According to reports, the mother died due to the complication of the coronavirus.

After giving birth, the mother suffered from hemorrhage, then a cardiac arrest. Larissa Blanco left her 24-year-old husband, Diego Rodrigues, distraught with what happened.

The symptoms of the coronavirus

Few days before being diagnosed with COVID-19, Larissa was showing symptoms of the coronavirus. She was experiencing flu-like symptoms. The young mother was diagnosed positive with the coronavirus on June 12.

When her condition worsened, she was taken to the hospital on June 26. On the following day, she was transferred to a private hospital. After which she went into labor.

Giving birth to the twins

When Larissa was giving birth, Diego was also in the surgery room. He saw how their first baby came out. Diego said, "[Larissa] saw that wonderful little face and I was really emotional, that was her dream."

After a small complication, the second child was born. Diego then bid his goodbye to his wife so that he could accompany their twins. He thought everything was okay. Little did he know that Larissa was already suffering from hemorrhage.

Diego was later on informed of his wife's condition. He was also told that she needed a blood transfusion.

Diego was told that Larissa was not pulling through after suffering from cardiac arrest. The doctor said that COVID-19 caused Larissa's body to weaken, thus she did not make it.

The father and the twins are left troubled.

After what happened to his wife, Diego shares that he cannot take his wife out of his head.

However, it is his two children that continue to give him strength. "I cried so much when I first saw them, it was the most beautiful thing," Diego said.

Rodrigues believes that God left the angels to him for a reason.

The father of the twins tested positive with coronavirus. The hospital eventually gave him a clearance to stay with his twins. However, they are still monitored at the hospital.

The deaths in brazil due to the coronavirus

The mother of the twins is only one of more than 60,000 COVID-19 deaths in Brazil. The South American country remains to struggle as the disease continues to spread. During the last week, Brazil suffered the most number of daily deaths in the world.

Next to the United States, it is the second-worst affected nation in terms of fatalities and positive cases. On July 2, more than 1,000 fatalities have been recorded in Brazil.

The country now has 1.44 million positive cases of COVID-19. With the additional 46,000 new cases, there are no signs of decreasing the daily cases and deaths.
