'Batman V Superman' Trailer, Release Date & Plot: Big Announcement Coming Soon, DC Cinematic Timeline To Be Revealed? [Rumors]

As fans celebrated Batman Day last Sept. 26, a major announcement about the character and the movie is apparently brewing, and it is expected to be revealed in the next two weeks.

According to Cinema Blend, podcaster and "Batman" film producer Michael Uslan said that there is something "Batman" fans can watch out for at the New York Comic Con (NYCC) that is happening in two weeks. Uslan didn't give out any more details, except that the "big Batman announcement" will be made on October 10 at 1:30 p.m. The said time and date is deemed as the time and date the "Batman" panel takes the stage in the annual New York event.

Expected to grace NYCC are many writers and artists who have previously worked in developing stories about the caped crusader. The excitement about this big announcement was additionally bolstered when DC Comics said via press release that there will be "breaking Batman news" in October.

Speculations are that it may involve more "Batman" films in the DC cinematic universe, especially since there were earlier reports that Ben Affleck is set on working on a stand-alone "Batman" movie, according to Deadline.

It has been also rumored that Warner Bros. is looking to make more "Batman" movies, as Affleck's performance impressed the bigwigs, according to Heroic Hollywood.

Meanwhile, as "Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice" is set to run in theaters in a little over six months, the MPAA has finally assigned the movie its official rating. The upcoming film has been rated PG-13, as it has "intense sequences of violence and action throughout, and some sensuality," according to Box Office Mojo.

The rating is not surprising though, as a previous "Batman" film, Tim Burton's 1989 movie, received a rating of PG-13, according to Coming Soon. Even "Man of Steel," which precedes "Batman v. Superman," was rated PG-13.

"Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" is directed by Zack Snyder. It stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Returning actors from the "Man of Steel" cast are Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne, while Jesse Eisenberg will make his first appearance as Lex Luthor. On the other hand, Jeremy Irons will join Bruce Wayne as his butler, Alfred, while Jason Momoa is expected to make his mark as Aquaman for the first time.

The highly anticipated DC superheroes movie will debut in theaters on March 25, 2016.
