Courtney Spears and her husband, Everett Jones, managed to beat the odds once again, welcoming their third set of twins, Camryn and Eva, on May 10, 2022, at Lane Memorial Hospital in Zachary. Their baby daughters have been in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit since their arrival, but Spears said the little girls are both doing well.

The family keeps on expanding for Spears and Jones, with the girls joining twin brothers Ethan and Curtis, who were born in 2020, twin sisters, Emory and Cassidy, who were born in 2021, and their oldest sister, Emanie, who is now five years old. They are now parents to three sets of twins who are less than two years old.

Courtney told WAFB that she knows that having seven children must seem overwhelming on the outside, but she and her husband Everett are happy with their big family. Spears and Jones have a routine that keeps everything flowing, and they have family helping out while mom and dad are working.

Mom Courtney says it is fun and tiring to have many kids

Spears talked about the joy of having this many children, saying, "It's fun, it's tiring, of course, having one kid is tiring, but it's fun. They make us laugh. Just seeing the different things they do every day, every day, it's something new. They make us laugh a lot."

Spears added that she had to stop working early because of a preterm labor scare, and, as a result, they are still working to find car seats for the newborn twins and a car capable of carrying all seven of their children.

According to the Advocate, Eva weighed four pounds and 15 ounces and measured 17 ½ inches long at birth. On the other hand, her twin sister Camryn weighed three pounds and 11 ounces and measured 16 ½ inches long at birth.

Twin girls born 36 weeks into Spears' pregnancy

The birth was not easy, with the twins being born 36 weeks into Spears' pregnancy. Although Courtney has come home already, her baby girls remain at the hospital. According to her mom, Eva is expected to come home later this week. However, the same cannot be said of her sister Camryn, who still needs to gain more weight before being discharged.

So, how common are twins? According to birth statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there were 112,437 infants born in twin deliveries in the United States in 2020. That's 31.1 twins per 1,000 live births, or put another way, about 3.11 percent of live births.

There were 2,738 triplet births and just 137 quadruplet and higher-order births during the same year. These figures include naturally occurring multiples and those conceived with the help of fertility treatment. Identical twin pregnancies occur 0.45 percent of the time, or 1 in 250 births in the general population.
