New breastfeeding mom Bobbi Althoff has experienced one of the downsides of nursing a baby, but she has figured out a way to deal with her lopsided boobs by using avocado to correct the symmetry.

Althoff, who runs a TikTok channel, has gone viral for her breastfeeding lopsided boobs hack, which has been viewed over 1.8 million times. While she may be making fun of herself, she has gained a lot of followers and comments for her candid take on her right breast's transformation due to breastfeeding.

The TikTok mom said she couldn't let her lopsided boobs hold her back from wearing comfortable tank tops, but her chest does appear odd-looking. She proceeded to show in the viral video how the avocado works to make her chest appear even.

Switching sides when nursing

According to The Sun, Althoff, 25, often cracks jokes on her TikTok and talks about her experiences as a new mom. She welcomed her first baby with her husband in early July.

Commenters to her video also opened up about their lopsided boobs and said that Althoff's humorous take made them feel better about their breastfeeding problem. Some also shared their advice to the new mom so that she can prevent having one breast larger than the other.

However, the TikTok mom said she's not into making too much effort to correct her breasts' symmetry for as long as it feeds her baby. Admittedly, Althoff noted that she does not switch sides when she nurses, thus the bigger boob, but she might have to adjust and change her nursing style by now.

In 2021, another TikTok mom also received many comments and views for sharing her uneven breasts due to breastfeeding. Abbie Herbert, 25, said no one has ever told her about this unappealing outcome.

She said that her daughter, Poppi, only cared about nursing on her right breast. As a result, her left boob "seems to be missing," and she wondered if her breasts would return to their normal appearance.

Is this breastfeeding side effect bad?

Per WebMD, uneven breasts are common even among non-breastfeeding moms. However, during the nursing phase, one breast may get larger and droop because each breast is independent of the other. What happens on the left side of the breast may not occur on the right side, especially if it does not produce more milk.

These changes are largely cosmetic and not medical, so there should be no cause for concern. However, if moms find dimpling, lumping, or puckering on their breasts, these changes should be checked as soon as possible. Thus, it's still important for breastfeeding moms to go to their regular breast screening to ensure their health.

The experts said cosmetic surgery is an option for misshapen breasts that do not go back to normal. Moms could get a procedure called mastopexy, which corrects sagging breasts or repositions the nipple and areola.
