Many states are issuing stimulus payments and one-time tax rebates to help American residents weather these tough economic times, according to CNET. For example, Californians will start getting their "Middle Class Tax Refund" checks this coming October, while millions of Colorado taxpayers should get a $750 refund by the end of this month.

Eligible Virginians will get a $250 rebate by October 31, either as a printed check or a direct deposit. Who else will get these all-important stimulus checks? Read on to find out which other states in the country are issuing payments this fall and how much money eligible taxpayers will get from these funds.

California

Millions of people living in California will receive inflation relief checks of up to $1,050 starting in October. Californians will get these payments in the mail as a debit card or a direct deposit. California expects 95 percent of the payments to go out this year, with the remaining checks reportedly arriving by January 15, 2023.

Colorado

Colorado residents who have filed their 2021 return by June 30 will receive a physical check for $750 by September 30. This is made possible by the 1992 Taxpayer's Bill of Rights (TABOR) Amendment with joint filers getting $1,500.

Delaware

Delaware residents who filed their 2020 tax returns will receive a $300 stimulus check after Governor John Carney approved the Delaware Relief Rebate Program in April.

Florida

Republican Governor Ron DeSantis announced that nearly 60,000 Florida families had received one-time payments of $450 per child to offset the state's rising inflation costs. The Florida Department of Children and Families said that checks should have arrived in time for the state's "back to school" sales tax holiday, which was held from July 25 to August 7.

Georgia

Governor Brian Kemp signed a bill in March authorizing rebates to Georgia taxpayers who filed their state returns for the years 2020 and 2021. Single taxpayers received $250 in May, with married couples filing jointly netting $500 and heads of households getting $375.

Hawaii

Hawaiians who earned under $100,000 last year, or $200,000 if they filed jointly, receive a $300 tax rebate in 2022. Dependents are also eligible for the rebate while a qualifying family of four could receive $1,200. Couples who earned more than $200,000 and individuals who earned more than $100,000 will receive a one-time $100 payout.

Idaho

Governor Brad Little signed a bill in February, giving $75 to each Idaho taxpayer and dependent, or 12 percent of their 2020 state income tax return, whichever of the two is greater.

Illinois

The state's estimated $1.83 billion relief package, which went into effect last July 1, includes property and income tax rebates and a temporary cut in several sales taxes that should be going out from September through November of this year.

Couples filing jointly with incomes under $400,000 will receive $100, while individuals who earned less than $200,000 last year will receive a $50 income tax rebate. Filers can earn $100 per dependent they claimed on their taxes last year, up to three dependents.

Indiana

Thanks to Indiana's automatic taxpayer refund law, Hoosiers are eligible for $125 rebates regardless of their income. Direct deposit payments started going out to taxpayers back in May.

Maine

Taxpayers in the state who have filed their 2021 state tax returns and have an adjusted gross income of less than $100,000 are eligible to receive an $850 direct relief payment. Couples who filed jointly will receive a single payment of $1,700.

Massachusetts

Massachusetts' Executive Office for Administration and Finance has confirmed that state taxpayers will get nearly $3 billion in tax revenue in November. State tax revenue is tied to salaries and wages, and any excess is returned to Massachusetts taxpayers under a voter-approved law passed in 1986 known as Chapter 62F.

The state sent $500 stimulus checks to low-income workers in the spring.

Minnesota

Certain frontline workers in Minnesota can get a one-time payment of $750, including health care staff, court officials, retail workers, and emergency responders. According to the Duluth News Tribune, almost 1.2 million workers applied for the state's frontline bonus check by the July 22 deadline.

New Jersey

Some 2 million households in New Jersey are getting property tax rebates, all thanks to the Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters (ANCHOR), a $2 billion property tax relief program signed by Governor Phil Murphy this past June.

New Jersey homeowners earning up to $150,000 will receive $1,500 rebates on their property taxes, while those making between $150,000 and $250,000 will get $1,000. Renters who earn up to $150,000 will get $450 checks from the state.

New Mexico

New Mexico issued a rebate to all the state's taxpayers, giving $500 for individual filers and $1,000 for heads of households, surviving spouses, and joint filers. The payments were broken into two parts, with the first checks going out this past June and the second checks back in August.

New York

About 3 million homeowners in New York started receiving property-tax rebates of up to $1,050 back in June, with New York City households getting an average of $425 back.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams signed legislation in late August, granting a one-time property tax rebate of up to $150 to hundreds of thousands of low- and middle-class homeowners.

Pennsylvania

More than 260,000 older homeowners, renters, and people with disabilities in Pennsylvania began receiving part of a massive $121.7 million payout issued through the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program back in July.

According to the state's Department of Revenue, the maximum standard rebate is $650, but supplemental rebates for qualifying Pennsylvania homeowners can boost that to $975.

South Carolina

South Carolina taxpayers will be given income tax refund checks of up to $800 starting in late November or December. Any resident in the state who paid taxes will get a rebate, with the amount increasing based on that person's tax liability.

Virginia

Millions of residents living in Virginia should receive by mid-October one-time tax rebates worth $250, or $500 if they filed jointly. Payments will be made by direct deposit and printed checks.
