A TikTok user claimed that Yolanda Hadid, mother of two well-known models - Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid, forced them to have restrive diets to lose weight. A fan said the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH)" alum made sure the models don't eat anything too calorie-dense, not even cake on their birthday, before showing an RHOB clip in which the mother told Gigi to only eat a couple of almonds after the Guest in Residence cofounder stated she was feeling really weak, US Magazine reported.

Yolanda told Gigi, "Have a couple of almonds," and reminded her to chew them well. Another clip from the Bravo show also showed Yolanda warning Gigi from eating any sugar, adding that it's hard to have to eat a salad every day while opening up about what goes into working as a model.

Yolanda replied to the allegations with her own TikTok post, which she cheekily captioned #Worstmomever #almonds. In her post, Yolanda posed with a giant bowl of almonds in various places throughout the clip, sharing them with her horse and two goats.

However, the intended humor in the clipped was flagged by Tiktok, adding the warning, "Participating in this activity could result in getting you or others hurt."

Bella Hadid deals with an eating disorder

Yolanda, also a successful model during her time, has not explicitly addressed the criticism, but she had previously shared her concerns regarding her decision to allow her daughters to work in the same industry.

On a November 2016 appearance on Australia's Today Extra, she stated that she was strict and never wanted her children to work until they were 18, adding that she doesn't want anybody to judge them on how they look.

She also told W Magazine that she never wanted her two daughters to compete with one another as she taught them at an early age that it's not about competing with anybody but rather becoming your personal best. Yolanda also said in February 2018 that Gigi and Bella are different, especially in their looks. She added that they are not competing against each other because they got that message very early, even before they even started their careers.

Bella revealed about dealing with an eating disorder in high school, but she attributed it to being prescribed Adderall as a teen. According to Mayo Clinic, appetite suppression is a side effect of the medication. The American model also added that she was on this calorie-counting app which serves as the devil for the 25-year-old. She said she could barely look in the mirror to this day due to her experience.

Yolanda had a nine-month social media detox

Yolanda returned to the online conversation after taking what she described as a nine-month social media detox. She shared a picture of herself on Instagram in August, looking relaxed as she smiled and looked up at the sky surrounded by water. She shared the reason for her hiatus was the loss of her mother, Ans Van Den Herik, in August 2019, to cancer which caused her to struggle with depression.

She added that the significant loss followed by a Lyme disease relapse were two major reasons she needed to take time to reevaluate her life, per People.
