The American country pop singer and wife revealed how they lost their baby of eight weeks in 2022.

Russell Dickerson and wife Kailey described 2022 as "incredibly wonderful," yet "heart-wrenching."

In a year-ender emotional post in Instagram, Kailey posted a wide-shot photo of her husband and 2-year-old son Remington at the beach. She shared how 2022 opened up opportunities for them to see some of the most beautiful places in the world, for her to experience once again some of her favorite places, and for the family to have "big dream-come-true" moments.

However, at the same time, 2022 gave them wounds that only few people witnessed and tended to.

"In the middle of the craziest year we have ever had, we lost a baby in September at 8 weeks... It felt like drowning and trying to swim towards sun to find the surface. The loss; however, is something that will always be written into our story. I know I'll share more about it when I'm ready, but for now, and for the last several months, I'm holding these two extra close," Kailey further expressed in her caption.

Priceless gift of grace and kindness

The couple opened up because they felt they needed to leave the news in 2022 as they heal and start anew in 2023, People reported.

The 23-year-old wife continued on with her caption talking more about their loss and their realization on how priceless to treat one another with grace and kindness.

Kailey said that knowing everyone is more connected than people think, gives her hope, and knowing that nothing and no one's life is perfect or without pain, gives her solace.

For 2023, she prays that everybody gives the gift of grace and kindness to each other, knowing that each person is battling and struggling with something, and the gift of love because everyonel needs it.

She ended her caption with the hope that all the broken hearted may feel the nearness of Jesus, because He has been with them.

Beauty out of ashes

The next day after her revelation post, she posted another photo of a beach and used the caption to express her gratitude for all the positive reactions she received from her previous post.

She said that she was overwhelmed "in the best way," for the kindness and support given to her by everyone who sympathized. She also expressed that it suddenly feels much less lonely knowing that a lot of people have been on the same road as theirs. How she hopes that none of them have experienced what they experienced, and yet what a beautiful testimony that they are all coming together, creating beauty out of ashes.

She then shared a poem, which she wrote a day after their miscarriage.

The 35-year-old songwriter and his wife met when they were both music students at Belmont University in Nashville in 2008. They got married five years after, and welcomed their son Remington in September of 2020.
