'Iron Man 4' Release Date & Cast: Installment Confirmed, Unlikely Robert Downey Jr Will Be Replaced; Actor Thanks Son For Teaching Him Patience [Rumors]

There are non-stop talks about the anticipated film "Iron Man 4." Many are concerned if Robert Downey Jr. will still be taking the shoes of the self-proclaimed genius, billionaire, playboy and philanthropist Tony Stark.

Well, there is no doubt that among the things fans love in "Iron Man" is Downey Jr. himself. He is just perfect for the character. In an earlier report from Parent Herald, Downey Jr. resembles Stark in many ways.

Downey Jr. has been the highest paid actor for three consecutive years. With his wealth, he also supported several charity organizations including Robin Hood and Stand Up To Cancer to name a few. The actor is interesting, funny and confident just like how Stark is in the popular "Iron Man" series.

However, there were reports claiming that the 49-year-old actor might be replaced with a younger actor in the upcoming flick "Iron Man 4." The Downey-less "Iron Man 4" will star Ty Simpkins, 13, CrossMap has learned.

Simpkins played the role of Harley Keener in "Iron Man 3," which earned him a nomination for Best Performance by a Younger Actor at the Saturn Awards. If this report is true, Simpkins will be 17 or 18 by the time "Iron Man 4" is released on 2019.

However, according to Cinema Blend it is unlikely for Marvel to replace Downey Jr. "Despite his impressive resume, it's a stretch to imagine that Marvel Studios believes he has the presence and charisma to replace Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man."

The rumors about Downey Jr. being replaced springs from the actor's pay hike demands. In a separate report from Parent Herald, Downey Jr. reportedly asked for a $50 million salary increase to reprise his role in "Iron Man 4" which caused the delay of  production.

New reports suggest that the actor is negotiating for a percentage of income of the movie rather than a fixed amount because the franchise is sure to be making tons of money. Well, Marvel could either given in to Downey Jr. demands or look for a new actor.

"There's an argument to be made that if Robert Downey Jr. hadn't been cast as Tony Stark, then Marvel wouldn't have achieved their subsequent success," Cinema Blend adds. Well, let's see how Marvel decides.

On the other hand, Downey Jr. shared some precious moments with his son Exton, 3. The father-of-three posted a short clip where his son was playing his necktie and he captioned it with "I'd like to thank Exton Downey for teaching me patience."

I'd like to thank Exton Downey for teaching me patience.

According to NDTV, patience was not on Downey Jr.s' list of virtues. In fact, he walked out during an interview when the host asked him about his dark past including his addictions that put him to jail. The actor reasoned out that they were promoting a superhero movie and many children are going to see it, thus, he finds the questions inappropriate. Well, good point Downey Jr.
