'Super Smash Bros 4' DLC Leak: Patch Update 1.1.2 Released; Shovel Knight Amiibo Confirmed? -- Top 5 Characters Here

Super Smash Bros. 4 fans are excited to know who will be the characters included in the new DLC for the game. As the fan-voting has ended, news about the confirmed personas are highly-anticipated.

Rumors about the inclusion of the Shovel Knight have been circulating recently. According to Nintendo Life, sources said that Shovel Knight's debut in the Smash Bros brawler will be accompanied by an Amiibo figure.

"We've been in touch with multiple sources within the video game retail sector - which we sadly can't name as it could lead to their dismissal - who claim that Shovel Knight is indeed about to make to his Smash Bros. début, and there will be an amiibo figure to accompany this grand event," said Nintendo Life.

Although that was reported in August, iDigital Times reports of a recent tweet that Nintendo Life (again) unearthed from a certain Wario64: a photo of Amiibo figures that included the Shovel Knight.

The photo, the tech news outlet said, is a screenshot taken from the official Amiibo pages that Nintendo has. It seems to give assurance that indeed the Shovel Knight is coming to Super Smash Bros as a holiday gift to all players.

However, Nintendo reportedly deleted the page quickly, and denials from Shovel Knight developer Yacht Club Games also kept coming – the official release date for the Shovel Knight Amiibo isn't known yet.

So does this mean that Shovel Knight will be in the upcoming DLC? Fans will have to wait to see.

Aside from the Yacht Club character, fans are still guessing as to who'll be included in the Smash Bros patch since the character ballot has ended, and there are three more open character slots.

According to Event Hubs, the top fan-favorite characters include King K. Rool from Donkey Kong Country, Dixie Kong from Donkey Kong Country, Isaac from Golden Sun, Ridley from Metroid, and an Inkling from Splatoon.

However, Venture Capital Post reports that the characters rumored to make it into the game via the coming patch are King K. Rool, Shantae, and Shovel Knight, along with Snake and Wolf. Others even requested for Britney Spears.

Currently, only update patch 1.1.2 has been released to address a glitch for Diddy Kong. It has been released for both Wii U and 3DS platforms.

Fans will just have to wait for the DLC to come. When it does, the smashing continues—this time with more characters.
