Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie Kids: Celeb Dad Said The Kids Were 'The Only Thing That Got Me To Quit' Pot, Smoking

It is a well-known fact that like most vices, smoking is dangerous for your health. However, kicking a bad habit and staying clean is quite difficult for most people, including Hollywood A-list star Brad Pitt. According to the other half of Brangelina, only one thing caused him to stop smoking cigarettes and marijuana — his kids.

MyNews4 reports that the "Fury" star has been a long-time smoker. For years, Pitt tried to quit smoking but always failed. According to him, he felt "deeply miserable" while trying not to light a stick or two. However, just recently, Pitt gave it another go and was determined to stay clean for good.

"It (has been) deeply miserable. I really missed cigarettes. Withdrawal was so hard, I was ready to kill. (It was) against my nature, I invested time and sweat on it and didn't like it. My trainer warned every day would be unpleasant. He was right," the "Fight Club" actor told the New York Post, as quoted by En Stars.

Apart from cigarettes, Pitt also had another addiction — smoking pot. However, he revealed that since he became a father to six children with actress Angelina Jolie, he had given it up. Pitt disclosed to the New York Post, "I quit smoking (marijuana)," he said. "That (having kids) was the only thing that got me to quit. That was it. Done."

Brad and Angelina have six children: 14-year-old Maddox, 11-year old Pax, 10-year-old Zahara, nine-year-old Shiloh and seven-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. But despite having six kids, Brangelina still wants to add another kid to their ever-growing household. According to a report from Daily Mail, the famous Hollywood couple is planning on adopting an orphan from Syria to be the seventh member of their family.

Angelina, a UN Special Envoy for Refugee, reportedly met three Syrian brothers, whose mother was killed in a bombing incident while their father was taken away by soldiers. The report said that upon meeting the kids, Angelina wanted to adopt all three of them. However, according to Radar Online, when the 38-year-old actress discussed this to her beau, Brad said no because taking care of nine children would be a very difficult task for them.

Nevertheless, Brad and Angelina decided to adopt one of the brothers. According to Radar Online's source, "It has been a very long process to adopt the Syrian orphan. The red tape has been almost impossible at times. It could take at least another four to five months before the child is brought to the United States."
