The family of 38-year-old Ashlee Good released a statement on Sunday after her deadly stabbing at Bondi Junction on Saturday.

"In the wake of this tragic loss, we mourn Ashlee's passing deeply. She was not just a beloved mother, daughter, sister, partner, and friend, but also an exceptional human being in every aspect," the statement read.

"We are touched by the overwhelming support and compassion from the Australian community, who have extended their heartfelt condolences to Ashlee and our baby girl."

Ashlee Good's nine-month-old daughter, who was also wounded in the onslaught, is presently hospitalized in a serious but stable situation.

"We are immensely thankful for the dedicated care provided by the medical team at Sydney Children's Hospital," the family's statement continued.

"Furthermore, we express our gratitude to the New South Wales Police for their compassion and thoroughness in handling this tragedy, as well as to the emergency services for their swift response in ensuring our baby received urgent medical attention. To the two individuals who comforted and tended to our baby in Ashlee's absence - no words can adequately convey our appreciation."

The family of Ashlee Good, a young mother from Sydney, verified in a declaration on Sunday that she was one of the casualties of an incidental stabbing attack at a shopping mall, which claimed the lives of six people.

Police confirmed on Sunday that five women and a male security guard were killed in the attack in the Sydney suburb of Bondi, with 12 others remaining hospitalized.

Ashlee Good, aged 38, was among those who lost their lives. Police reported that her nine-month-old daughter, Harriet, was in a serious but stable condition in the hospital.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Ashlee, who was not only a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, partner, and friend but also an exceptional individual," the family conveyed in their statement, as reported by local media.

"We are relieved to share that after undergoing hours of surgery yesterday, our baby is currently in stable condition," the family added.

Witnesses informed local media that Good had been holding her daughter and had sought assistance from bystanders following the attack.

Good, an osteopath who described herself as an "articulate and driven" professional on LinkedIn, had posted last month about the privilege of parenthood alongside a photo of herself with her daughter, Harriet.

Community Mourns Victims of Bondi Mall Stabbing Attack

In Bondi, several individuals laid flowers at the entrance of the shopping mall where the tragic incident occurred. John Tognolini, 65, who traveled from Katoomba, a town approximately 90 km (56 miles) from Sydney, to place flowers, expressed his sorrow over the shocking event.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated on Sunday that he had received condolence messages from across the globe. In the Vatican, a high-ranking cardinal conveyed Pope Francis's deep sadness upon learning of the violent attack in Sydney.

"He extends his spiritual support to all those affected by this senseless tragedy, particularly those grieving the loss of a loved one," the Vatican telegram read.
