Kim Kardashian on Impending Motherhood: 'I’m a Bit Nervous and Anxious'

Pregnant reality television star Kim Kardashian is "nervous" and "anxious" about her impending motherhood.

However, the expecting star's confidence is re-gained while thinking that she has learnt lessons from some of the best moms in her family - mom Kris Jenner, grandma MJ and sister Kourtney.

"Mother's Day is one of my favorite holidays because it's a special day to honor my role model and best friend," Kim, who is expecting her first child with boyfriend rapper Kanye West, wrote on her website. "As I'm counting the days until I finally get to be a mother, I'm a bit nervous and anxious but also excited knowing that I learned from the very best."

Kim also took an opportunity to emphasize the hard work it takes for working mothers to balance their work, without compromising on family.

"My mom is a strong and ambitious career woman that despite her busy schedule and the millions of things she has going on, she still manages to put family first and continues to look out for us every day," Kim continued, while highlighting the difficulty of managing home and career. "I'm honored to follow in her footsteps and make her proud like I am of her."

During the note, Kim also acknowledged her sister Kourtney and grandma MJ for giving valuable lessons about motherhood.

The 31-year-old "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star started dating West in April 2012, shortly after her split with husband and NBA player Kris Humphries. Kardashian's marriage with Humphries lasted only 72 days and the gorgeous television personality filed for divorce from Humphries Oct. 31, 2011. Kardashian is still not legally separated from Humphries.

Kardashian and West confirmed the baby news in December 2012. In February 2013, ending the long suspense about baby's gender, sources close to the couple confirmed that Kim and West are going to have a baby girl. During the 2013 Met Ball recently, the mom-to-be flaunted her growing baby bump in a cheerful peony dress.
