'Mortal Kombat X' DLC Kombat Pack 2 Out Early 2016, Four New Characters, New Content & More! -- What You Need To Know! [Rumors]

New details about the new downloadable content (DLC) update for "Mortal Kombat X" have emerged online. Warner Bros. has already confirmed that additional DLC is indeed on the way and new characters, a new stage and new skins will be unveiled.

Christian Today published that the new content is set for release sometime in the first semester of 2016 and new characters will extend past the known names of the fighting franchise.

Recently Ed Boon teased over twitter that Kombat Pack 2 will contain 4 new fighters, similar to what was released with the Kombat Pack DLC. The first pack contained a character line up comprised of Sonya, Tremor, Tanya, Predator, and Jason Voorhees.

One of the newest tweets of Boon include Havik and Drahmin's addition to the "Mortal Kombat X" roster. The new image shared showcased altered renders of the characters who appeared in the franchise back in 2006 for "Mortal Kombat: Armageddon." Along with the photo was a reference to The Weeknd's song "Can't Feel My Face" which was altered to go, "We can't feel our face when we're with you! And we hate it. And we hate it." The choice of caption was speculated to be related to the fact that both characters have faces which aren't fully formed, noted Gospel Herald.

In addition other rumored characters that could make up the new DLC pack include "Jurassic Park" names and possibly dinosaurs as well.

One thing is for sure, two characters who won't be making it to the final cut will be DC Comic characters Superman and Batman. As published earlier by Polygon, the game maker made it clear he wasn't interested in a face off between the two. "I'd be hard-pressed to have a DC character as a downloadable character in Mortal Kombat X," said Boon. "The main reason is, I have no desire to cut Batman's head off. I have no desire to kill Superman."

Come early 2016, gamers who signed up and are paid for the Kombat Pack 2 season pass will be able to avail of one character at a time. The price tag of the season pass comes in at $29.99.

"Mortal Kombat X" is currently available for consoles PlayStation 4, XBox One and PC.
