Charlie Sheen's Ex-wife Denise Richards Takes His Twins Out For a Day (PHOTOS)

After police were called on Brooke Mueller to make an intervention and take Mueller to a treatment facility, her and Charlie Sheen's twin boys were put in the care of Sheen's ex-wife, Denise Richards, who recently treated the boys to a fun day out.

According to the Daily Mail, police thought Mueller hadn't slept in four days, and her boys Bob and Max, both four-years old, were apparently present at the time of the intervention.

Now the twins need some TLC, and Richards provided that on Monday when she took the twins out for a day of fun at Underwood Farm in Los Angeles along with her adopted daughter and father. The young boys were photographed having a great time on a hayride with their sisters Sam and Lola, who they are comfortable with as Richards has looked after the twins before.

Sheen pays the "Anger Management" star and former model $55,000 a month in child support, but it is reported that he offered to give Richards more money for taking care of his two children, while Mueller was in rehab, but the actress politely declined. Sheen recently flew Richards home to Los Angeles from New York in a private yet so that she could be with her children on Mother's Day.

"Charlie is extremely generous, and wanted to make sure having the twins in Denise's care didn't place a financial strain on her," a source said to RadarOnline. "Denise was thankful for the offer, but declined because she has the financial means to take care of them herself. She isn't doing this for the money."

The source also explained that Sheen is aware of how fortunate he is to have Richards still in his life and willing to help out with the kids.

"There have been many times over the last year that Charlie has said the best thing he ever did was marrying and having children with Denise," the insider said. But the worst thing was ever letting her go. Denise is the one person in his life that he truly trusts."

Though the famous mother is intent on providing the best environment for the boys, the insider said that it isn't always easy.

"Five kids under the age of nine in one house is chaos at times, but Denise manages," the insider said. Nonetheless, "all of the kids are thriving and love each other."

It definitely looks like Mueller and Sheen's twin boys are doing well in Richards' care, enjoying their fun day out which was surely a welcome relief after having such a rough time as of recently.
