Holiday 2015: Top Smartwatch Gift Ideas For Dads

Today's technology doesn't just allow people to communicate, it also allows for time-telling and a lot more, thanks to current smartwatches. They don't just look cool, they have various uses, too.

Are you looking for a smartwatch to give your dad this coming holiday season? Here's a list of the best smartwatches to choose from.

Apple Watch

According to ZDnet, the Apple Watch is arguably the most compelling smartwatch available to date, although it doesn't work with Android phones.

Currently it has more than 1,300 apps available; enables users to have communication support (phone conversations and texts) from it; has a lot of customization options via watch faces and accessories; and has long battery life.

It costs $349.00-$429.00 a piece.

Pebble Time Steel

If you wanted to get the Pebble Time but didn't because you wanted a wristwatch that's made of steel, then get the Pebble Time Steel. As the name says, it's made of steel unlike its brother, and it's 1mm thicker, which makes it a bit bigger in feel. It still has the same Pebble Time functions.

That added 1mm thickness gave Pebble some room for this watch to have a bigger battery, which makes this version run for up to 10 days. Great!

It's priced at $299.00

Sony Smartwatch 3

Wareable's favorite. The Sony Smartwatch 3 is arguably the one that other smartwatch makers envy. It has GPS connectivity, and with the latest Android Wear update, you might be able to connect it with a bluetooth headset. This means you can leave your phone at home, and run or do your thing outside the house.

The steel version adds more style to the already amazing watch.

The Sony smartwatch 3 is priced starting at $249.00.

Garmin VivoActive

Is dad sporty? Then the Garmin VivoActive might be a good choice. It has tracking options for running, biking, swimming, playing golf, and even just walking, making it a good fitness buddy. It also gives notifications.

The only downside, Wareable says, is its dated design and screen technology. But if dad's going to wear this just for exercise or play, why not?

The VivoActive is sold for $249.99.

LG Watch Urbane

Looking for something stylish and functional? The LG Watch Urbane is for you.

A smartwatch that looks like a traditional timepiece, this one is a looker. ZDnet reports that it has a 1.3-inch circular OLED display, 410mAh battery, and 4GB storage space for music. Cool-looking, and might even be cool-sounding.

The LG Watch Urbane is priced at $349.00, with silver and gold options.

There are a lot more to choose from, but it's all up to you. Which one would you like?
