'Battlefield 4: Legacy Operations' DLC PS4, Xbox One, PC: Bigger Dragon Valley Map Confirmed; More flags, Improved Terrain, Dynamic Cloud Layer & More!

Great news for “Battlefield 4” fans! A new DLC will be coming for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms of the game! The new DLC will be bringing in huge vehicle map named Dragon Valley 2015.

Gamespot reported that after polling player's opinions as to the classic map they want to see remade, DICE found out that the Dragon Valley map from “Battlefield 2” was the most popular. Thus, the large classic map was re-imagined into current game as Dragon Valley 2015.

Dragon Valley 2015 will have more flags compared to any other map in Conquest mode, and will also support Rush, which didn't exist yet in BF2. Other aspects are being tweaked as well, to improve the map from the original. DICE wrote about this improvements in a Battlelog entry:

“We tackled this in several ways: first we increased the terrain verticality to closer mimic a real life Chinese river valley – and to give us more terrain occlusion for long distances, especially on the central island. We also added a dynamic cloud layer, which not only adds a welcomed air-to-ground separation in terms of gameplay, but also helps shroud far distances at ground level. This has the added bonus effect of allowing you to have intense aerial firefights above the cloud level, which looks really, really cool in Battlefield 4.”

VG247 reported that the rehash carries some old elements over as well. The destructible and repairable bridges are back and are fun to use, especially when land armor are around. Coupled with Rush, it promised gameplay unique to the map.

“We are happy to say that we will be bringing these bridges back,” wrote DICE, “and they are a ton of fun to use!”

Players on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms won't receive this update, though.

“We really wanted to push the envelope with Dragon Valley 2015, and that meant being able to make a bigger level, with a larger scale than anything currently in Battlefield 4. Because of that, we made the decision to focus on the more powerful platforms. This doesn’t mean we’re no longer supporting players on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with critical updates when needed, but we really wanted to try something big for Dragon Valley, and we think that when you play it, you’ll see the difference.”

Excited? Dragon Valley 2015 will be included in the upcoming “Battlefield 4 Legacy Operations” DLC rolling out alongside the Holiday Update. Watch for it.
