'Transformers 5' Cast, Plot & Release Date: Hasbro Unveils First Logo, Introduces 'Transformers: Micronauts' Toys [Photo]

Since "Transformers 5" was announced, the hype about the upcoming science fiction action film inspired from the "Transformers" toy line intensifies. It looks like the production team has made progress because they already unveiled a temporary logo for the fifth "Transformers."

TFW2005 reported about Hasbro Investor Day and stressed that the event concentrated on their investors, press and consumers. Moreover, the American multinational toy and board game company provided a sneak peak of what to expect in the Toy Fair, which is scheduled next year.

Among the highlights was the "Transformers 5" placeholder logo, which one can check out here. ComicBook.com hinted that "Transformers: Age of Extinction" placeholder logo was close to its official version. Therefore, the official logo for the next "Transformers" may just look similar to what's currently shown.

Moreover, Hasbro introduced the "Transformers: Micronauts" which suggested that they will be integrated into the "Transformers" world soon. Who knows? They might appear in "Transformers 5." Micronauts was a toyline created in the 1970s by the Japanese company Mego, now owned and operated by Hasbro.

Micronauts are 3.75-inch-tall action figures. The backstory revealed that they came from a small world but when they arrived on Earth, they disguised themselves as toys. The storyline captured the interest of Marvel's Bill Mantlo, who along with Michael Golden, created a comic book series that was first published in 1979.

Akiva Goldsman is heading the franchise's new writers room and, in an interview with IGN, he hinted that the direction of the next "Transformers" movie will follow the main storyline. "Our hope is that they are all interconnected and of course standalone, right?" he said.

"I think architecturally, the best - I think I believe this - the best serialized storytelling has integrity from start to finish of the episode, whether it be TV or a movie or comic book or novel series or short story series. You want to be able to satisfy both appetites - which I think is very different from procedural or episodic. You want to feed the instinct for the short-term gratification and the longterm gratification. So we're trying to do both."

Meanwhile, Parent Herald previously reported that "Transformers 5" and the next sequels will include the human characters. Although the humans and Transformers can live apart, their interaction is among the elements that bring success to the film.

In fact, the previous "Transformers" with Shia LaBeouf were more successful than Mark Wahlberg's "Transformers: Age of Extinction" since the former films featured Sam and Bumblebee's extraordinary relationship which is more dramatic compared to the "weightless storyline of Cade Yaegar (Wahlberg) and his family".

Wahlberg will be reprising his role in "Transformers 5." Let's see if the storyline is better this time. Let's see if this time he would make us forget about Sam and Bumblebee successfully.

"Transformers 5" is slated for a 2017 release.
