Kate Middleton News: Duchess Goes Casual in North Wales as She Advocates for Children's Mental Health [Watch Here]

Duchess Kate Middleton was spotted spending time in North Wales as she and her husband, Prince William continue on their tour advocating for Children's Mental Health.

Following her moving speech earlier this week, Mail Online reports that Kate and William -- who previously resided in Anglesey -- were scheduled to meet with different organizations to tackle Children's Mental Health issues, a topic close to both their hearts.

Even though the British royal family's life has been exposed to the public, it's a rare scene to see Kate Middleton giving a speech. A previous report from Parent Herald even mentioned a rumor that the Duchess of Cambridge, despite her rigorous training to fit the Queen's royal standard, is still not yet ready to speak on royal matters. However, just recently, Duchess Kate gave her longest public speech ever, talking about a cause dear to her heart, Telegraph reports.

According to the news outlet, Kate attended Place2Be's Headteacher Conference where she talked about improving and understanding children's mental health in front of senior leaders of various schools from England, Scotland and Wales. Vogue notes that Kate reportedly wrote the speech herself, which discussed the value of children’s mental health care.

During the speech, the Duchess said, “I often get asked why I decided to spend time highlighting the mental health of children. I imagine my answer might be similar to many of yours. I know that I was lucky. My parents and teachers provided me with a wonderful and secure childhood where I always knew I was loved, valued, and listened to.”

"But of course many children are not so lucky children aren't so lucky. I have seen time and time again that the roots of poor mental health in adulthood are almost always present in unresolved childhood challenges," she continued.

Kate then discussed her various efforts to combat addiction, saying, "Since beginning my work in areas like addiction, for example, I have seen time and time again that the roots of poor mental health in adulthood are almost always present in unresolved childhood challenges," as quoted by a report from Mirror.

She stressed, "I am sure you will agree that all children deserve time, attention and love from the adults in their lives."

During the conference, Duchess Kate looked chic as usual wearing a gray Matthew Williamson dress lined with turquoise-laden cuffs. The conference, according to Telegraph, aims to educate school leaders about the benefits of early intervention on alleviating children's mental health issues as well as the school’s role on this matter.

"Imagine if everyone was able to help just one child who needs to be listened to, needs to be respected, and needs to be loved -- we could make such a huge difference for an entire generation," the Duchess of Cambridge concluded, per Mirror. Check out Kate's speech below.
