'Baywatch' Star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Talks Depression, Close Bond With Daughter Simone

Success is not achieved overnight but something that can certainly be achieved with determination and faith.

That should be something to ponder on and that applies to everyone, casual and popular individuals alike. And one person who best typifies that is Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson who seems pretty much fulfilled though the road towards achieving fame and success was a pretty hard one.

Johnson made his mark being one of the top WWE superstars and then jumping to Hollywood. The move alone came with risks and everyone knows the stature of Johnson who has so far starred in blockbuster films such as San Andreas.

In an article from EOnline, a deeper look into his past shows how the Rock had to endure with his early-life struggles. He had his share of depression at an early age but managed to fight it with his own career-defining decision which ultimately became his ticket to continuous success.

He recounted depression via the LA Times, when he was at first cut by his coach and then made the bold move to shift to another sport which was wrestling. While his dad had his apprehensions on Dwayne’s move, the father gave his all out support and got his back.

And as it turned out, it is obvious that the risky decision reaped dividends leading to where he is today. Johnson opened up on that life episode on Oprah’s Master Class. After he got that out of his chest, the Rock was pretty much thankful for the ones who aired their support via Twitter.

In the same show, Johnson also shared his close relationship with his 14-year-old daughter Simone. Rock emotionally detailed how he had wanted to be a great dad and that since Simone first came into the world, he would make sure that she would be safe and fill up her world with his care and love. Here is part of what the Rock said for that segment:

“'I will always, always take care of you, for the rest of your life. You are safe.' Literally held her in these two hands. Throughout the years, throughout the ups and downs, I've realized that the most important thing that I could do with my daughter is lead our life with love," he explained.

Considering the touch image that Johnson carries on screen, such was indeed a touch revelation on his end. Also, fatherhood seems to be just beginning with word that there is another child on the way with wife Lauren Hashian.
