Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale Divorce: Dad Says ‘My Children Come First’, Surprising Kids With Holiday Trip [Report]

In the midst of their current struggles, Gavin Rossdale still thinks of his kids so much.

The 50-year-old Bush frontman is focused on his three kids with estranged wife Gwen Stefani. “My children come first,” he told People.

Rossdale teased that he plans on taking his kids Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 20 months, on a trip in December. “I am taking the boys on a special trip Dec. 26,” he said during the Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic gala at the Boca Raton Resort and Club in Florida.

“Where we are going is a big surprise!” he added. The proud father happily described his kids' relationships with each other as well.

“The boys interact so well, and they truly love each other,” he said. “They are so sweet and protective of each other, and they have little dance parties. I am always on the lookout to see what they are doing next and how they are working their naughty habits!”

The International Business Times reported that when Rossdale and Stefani announced their divorce, they emphasized that both of them would still parent their kids together.

“While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment,” the divorced couple said at the time of announcement.

IBT added that there are rumors saying Rossdale and Blake Shelton have no bad blood between them, and that Rossdale just wants his ex-wife and kids to be happy and content with their lives.

Entertainment Tonight reported that a source close to Rossdale said that now he is simply focused on his kids.

"Gavin is an amazing father who only cares about his kids and is determined to protect them and shield them from all of this," the unnamed source told ET. "He is bummed that the marriage is ending, but he wants Gwen to be happy. If being with Blake makes her happy, so be it."

TV3 reported that the couple wants to make the holidays as “normal as possible” for their kids.

An unnamed source told TV3: ''It's very likely they will be together for some parts of it, but Gwen still wants to have the holidays as normal as possible because of her kids."

''So Gwen may do a more traditional holiday with Gavin when their kids open up the presents, but it's clear to her children they are not with each other in any romantic capacity,” the source added.
