'Spider-Man' Actor Tom Holland Gets Electrocuted in Training! Here's What He Thinks About Andrew Garfield

Tom Holland has pretty big shoes to fill as he has been chosen to don the Spider-Man suit in another reboot of sorts of the web slinger.

The actor will be under a lot of pressure to follow the footsteps and improve on the previous renditions of Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield. The Spider-Man renditions have improved with each release and, now, Holland is tasked to take it up a notch since Garfield’s starring role in the Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2.

For his part, Holland admitted that he is a big fan of Garfield and that it was hard not to take out some pages from his portrayal of the web slinger as mentioned on Digital Spy.

“He did such a good job as Peter Parker and it's really difficult not to copy him because what he did was so perfect and obviously there are going to be things that I might steal but I hope we get to meet and even work together in the future."

However, one thing going for Holland is that he has a special ability which could improve on the near-perfect rendition of Garfield: acrobatics.

In fact, it was his ticket in landing the Spider-Man role as he narrated via Irish Examiner.

“I basically did a somersault into frame and a somersault out of frame and I was like, They may never see this but if they do I need them to know that I’ve got some gymnastics abilities and stuff.”

Seeing the action-packed stunts that Spider-Man is expected to do, that talent is expected to work to his advantage. Check out the Instagram video below for a sample on what he can do.

Plain acrobatics is already hard as it is but Holland does go out of his way to add some perks on his special skill that integrates a pinch of electrocution as mentioned on Screen Rant. He undergoes a 20-minute workout using strapped electric belts which render a dull tingling feeling at least once a week during his workouts.

With all that in mind, it looks like Holland is bringing in something pretty different and hopefully he does make the grade with the stakes up on the next Spider-Man reboot.

Curiously, Spider-Man was not part of the "Captain America 3: Civil War" official trailer though he could be appearing somewhere in the post-credits.

Regardless, Holland’s rendition of Spider-Man can be measured once the film directed by Jon Watts hits the big screen on July 28, 2017.
