'Deadpool' Trailer & Release Date: New Poster Revealed, Simon Kinberg Says Film is 'Radical' in Tone, Form, & Violence

In the slew of personas that comprise the ever-growing Marvel universe, most people would certainly agree that Wade Wilson, commonly known as Deadpool, is one of the most famous fan-favorites -- thanks to his offbeat humor and crazy antics. Apparently, that craziness can be seen in a new poster released for next year's “Deadpool” movie.

Cinema Blend reported that this poster is very Wade Wilson, complete with all the details: that pose, that backpack and that nothing-else-but-Deadpool design. Apparently, this new poster is one of the bizarre promotional items released over the year, and just succeeds in showing off who this unusual hero really is.

“Deadpool” is very timely. Screenrant noted that the film scenario this winter is full of heavy hitters, including “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens,” “The Hateful Eight,” “Zoolander 2” and some others. Not only that, next year fans will be seeing superhero clashes “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Captain America: Civil War.” With all of these movies showing up, 20th Century Fox will have the honor of releasing a highly-anticipated fan favorite, pitted against other giants.

Although the poster itself revealed no movie detail aside from Deadpool's obvious wackiness, director Simon Kinberg said that fans can be assured of a new experience that's different from other superhero movies.

“It’s radical,” Kinberg told Collider in an interview, “It’s radical in tone, it’s radical in form, it’s radical in the level of violence. It’s just a different movie, not just from other comic book movies but I think from any other action movie that’s out there right now.”

Kinberg also expressed his surprise at fan's responses to “Deadpool.”

“I knew that there was a fervent fanbase for Deadpool and I’ve been a huge fan of the comics—it’s one of the reasons I really advocated for making a movie—but I’m still constantly surprised by just how broad that fanbase is,” he said. “I felt it when we were at Comic-Con this year; in a world of Batman and X-Men and Captain America and these huge characters it felt like Deadpool carried the same kind of weight, which was surprising.”

Not only did fans surprise him, “Deadpool” main actor Ryan Reynolds did as well.

“I’ve worked on a lot of movies, comic book any otherwise, and I don’t know that I’ve ever seen an actor as perfectly suited to a part as Ryan is to Deadpool,” he said.

“Deadpool” opens in theaters on February 12, 2016.
