Kim Kardashian Is Having a Baby Girl; See Baby Shower Photos (SLIDESHOW)

The suspense over the gender of Kim Kardashian's baby is over. The pregnant socialite will soon be a mother to a baby girl.

The hoopla surrounding the baby's sex ended when Kim announced she would be having a girl, during Sunday's season premier of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians.' "I'm so excited I'm having a girl," she said.

Kim was told about her baby's sex during a doctor's appointment last week.

Kim's physician Dr Paul Crane confirmed the news saying that he "thinks" it is girl. Kardashian was unable to hide her excitement and said she and her boyfriend Kanye West always wanted a girl. "Who doesn't want a girl? They are the best and I know that's really what Kanye has always wanted.

 "He wanted a little girl," the 32-year-old TV reality star said. Kim was told about her baby's sex during a doctor's appointment last week.

The family had a difficult time keeping the baby's gender a secret before the announcement, as the media kept digging out as much information as they could. "We buy all white," Kardashian told the Huffington Post in April. "Or we'll go and buy both (boys' and girls' clothing), and then no one will know."

Meanwhile, the Kardashians were quite occupied with Kim's baby shower on Sunday at Beverly Hills. The baby shower would air on their reality show 'Keeping Up...'on E! It was packed with Kim's close friends. Celebrities such as Kelly Osborne, Nicole Richie, NeNe Leakes, Kimerley Stewart and fitness trainer Tracy Anderson were present at the shower.

Kim wore a long white gown with flats and had her hair done into three braids wih gold ribbons, reported E! Online.

Also the grand shower put an end to speculations on West's presence. The 35-year-old rapper made a guest appearance at the shower under a hoodie. Besides West, Khloe's husband Lamar Odom and Kourtney's partner Scott Disick were also present at the shower.
