Melanie Griffith, Antonio Banderas Divorce: Final! -- 'Working Girl' Gets $65,000 Monthly Spousal Support

After 18 years of marriage, Hollywood couple Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith is finally going their separate ways. A Los Angeles judge decided the divorce on Tuesday, after the couple signed the paper in the middle of this year.

According to the Daily Mail, "The Mask of Zorro" actor must pay Griffith $65,000 every month as part of the settlement agreed by both stars.

The ex-couple met each other in the 90's where they worked together in the movie "Two Much." The romantic comedy film was released in 1995, just a year before they got married. Banderas, who directed the comedy-drama film "Crazy in Alabama" which starred his then-wife, has an 18 year-old-daughter with Griffith.

In a report from People, it was mentioned the couple released a joint statement about their recent separation.

"We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost twenty years marriage in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together."

According to the court documents obtained by TMZ, the pair reportedly kept their earnings separately from 1996 to 2004, where Antonio made a lot of money from movies such as "The Mask of Zorro" and "Spy Kids."

On the other hand, Griffith also gets to keep her finances during those years. The couple said to have signed a post-nuptial agreement in 2004, to share the money each of them got from their work starting that year until their official separation. Banderas received lucrative pay for movies like "Shrek 2," "Puss in Boots" and "The Expendables 3."

The 58-year-old actress also gets to keep their house in Aspen, Colo., while they split the profit from the sale of their Los Angeles home, where the couple lived before the break up.

Other agreements include Griffith taking a Picasso painting, while Banderas gets to keep two paintings -- one by Picasso and the other one by Diego Rivera.

Bandera, 55, has since moved on from the break up and is now dating Nicole Kimpel, who is 20 years younger than the Spanish actor.

The actor said in an interview that he hopes to maintain a good relationship with his ex-wife since they have spent so many years together as a married couple, according to a report from ABC News.

The marriage was the "Working Girl" actress' fourth, while second for Banderas. Griffith also earned an Academy award nomination for her role in the movie the said movie.
