'Mario Kart 8' Comes to 'Grand Theft Auto V' & Disney TV

Nintendo's “Mario Kart 8” is making a bit of a noise lately. To be specific about it, one of its features was modded into "Grand Theft Auto V" and it was also featured in a show by entertainment giant Disney.

Kotaku reported that mod expert MrVicho13 ported the said Nintendo racing game into one of the biggest games of today, “GTA V.” What the guy did is basically taking a whole race track out of the game and slapped it into the other.

MrVicho13 reportedly took from “Mario Kart 8” the whole "N64 Yoshi Valley" course and put it into “GTA V.” Textures and Development models were ripped by a certain Ray Koopa (probably the Koopas were tired of being stepped on the head). Then, the mod-master worked on porting them into the superstar Rockstar game.

In another news, “Mario Kart 8” has gone on live television. Press Chronicle reported that, for the second year of partnership between Disney's American cable channel Disney XD and Nintendo, the game has been featured in a TV special this month.

“With an elimination style format, the show should be able to capitalize on the excitement that Mario Kart games can generate, and given Disney XD's younger audience, this could draw a significant crowd,” the news outlet stated. “ESPN has even hired gaming reporters to keep up on the ever growing trend.”

Apparently, Disney sees a lot of potential in video games. This is evident in the way it handled game-related media such as “Star Wars” games (i.e. “Battlefront”) and “Disney Infinity.”

The show, cleverly dubbed “Clash of Karts: Mario Kart 8,” showed evidence of how the company gives attention to gamers. It is reported that the show followed eight gamers paired with eight famous YouTube personalities such Strawburry 17, Andre (Black Nerd Comedy), AtomicMari and SethBling as they clashed in the karting competition.

It is reported that they also competed to get top honors in other Nintendo games such as “Super Metroid,” “Splatoon” and “Super Mario Maker.” The show was filmed live at the Nintendo World Championships 2015 event.

“Mario Kart 8” is currently the bestselling game on the Wii U, with almost 6 million copies sold to date.
