'Iron Man 4' Cast & Plot: Robert Downey Jr. Will Train The New Iron Man; Captain America To Join The Upcoming Film?

Several fans are longing for answers for the never-ending question if Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Iron Man in the forthcoming "Iron Man 4." Recent news reports claimed that the actor will be replaced in the next installment.

Robert just laughed off the idea when he was asked if he would allow someone else portray his popular character Tony Stark. "I like that the idea is that it would be up to me, like I'm casting director for Marvel," he said during a 2014 interview with Variety. "Don't give it to anybody else," his "Judge" co-star Robert Duvall protested at that time.

The 50-year-old "Sherlock Holmes" star was applauded for his exemplary portrayal of his character Tony Stark who is a self-proclaimed genius, billionaire, playboy and philanthropist.  Several fans want Robert to portray the character, however, a new report claimed that the role will be given to either Leonardo DiCaprio or Jon Hamm.

Movie Web shared that the two contenders are the only ones who are fit for the spot. Leonardo has already played the role of an eccentric billionaire many times over. Hence, it is not going to be that surprising if he is given the same part in the future.

Jon Hamm, on the other hand, was truly remarkable in his portrayal as an arrogant yet gentleman-like billionaire in the box-office hit film "Mad Men." Either of the two could fill the spot the moment Robert rejects playing the lead role. Also, it was reported that "The Avenger" star will train the new Iron Man.

Meanwhile, International Design Times previously reported that Chris Evans was glad with the addition of Robert in the upcoming movie "Captain America: Civil War." As a matter of fact, he said he is willing to return the favor in "Iron Man 4." Hence, fans should not be surprised they come across a news about Captain America joining the film.
