Halle Berry Expecting a Boy with Olivier Martinez

Nahla Ariela Aubry, Halle Berry's 5-year-old daughter, actually wanted to have a baby sister, but it has been revealed that she will be getting a baby brother.

It is official now. Halle Berry is expecting a son with her fiancé French actor Olivier Martinez. The proud-dad-to-be confirmed the news to People magazine at the opening night of the Champs-Elysées Film Festival, Wednesday.

"My son will be an American, but I remain French," he told the magazine.

"I'm French - it's less important," Martinez added later. "Meaning, I remain a Frenchman in America, but I adapt to American culture. I feel good there - but I'm still a foreigner. My son will be an American."

Berry, who has married twice, started dating Martinez after first meeting him at the sets of "Dark Tide" in 2010. In January 2012, they got engaged and confirmed pregnancy early this year (April).

"I can confirm that Halle and Olivier are expecting a child," the actress' rep told People magazine.

Nahla is the first child of the 46-year-old actress and boyfriend French-Canadian model Gabriel Aubry. The couple, who met in 2005, announced a split in 2010. After Nahla's birth, Berry was often upset with photojournalists hanging around celebrity children to sell magazines and wanted to permanently move to France (with her daughter and fiancée), which has strong laws to protect children. However, a court order in November denied her permission.

Last year in November, Berry had revealed her daughter's wish to have a sibling, particularly a baby sister. "Every night, we do our prayers," People magazine quoted Berry saying during "The Wendy Williams Show." "We pray to God, so sweet. She says, 'God, please bring me a bunk bed and a baby sister.' And I say, 'I can do one of those things, I know for sure. The other one, we've got to keep praying on.' What do you say to her when she wants that and can't understand why God's taken so long?"

The baby is due in fall.
