Johnny Depp, Amber Heard Marriage: 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' Star Is One Lucky Man Because Of His Wife [VIDEO]

Johnny Depp thanked his wife Amber Heard during his acceptance speech for the Desert Palm Achievement Award at the 27th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival. This may suggest that the couple is really happy with their married life.

According to an article on E! Online, Depp mentioned his wife during his speech for putting up with him when he's living with multiple hard roles. Depp once opened his relationship with Heard and talked about their connection on so many things such as being an aficionado of the blues.

Depp proudly admitted that he's one lucky man because of his wife. "She's very very literate. She's a voracious reader as I have been, so we connected on that as well and she's kind of brilliant and beautiful." Depp said.

Along with his speech, he also thanked and recognized the Warner Bros. executives who supported him when he played the role of Whitey Bulger, a Boston mobster in the film "Black Mass." It is reported that Depp was so brave in playing this role and didn't even complain about the heavy prosthetics that were used in the film.

Depp is prominent in portraying different transformation roles such as Edward Scissorhands, Willy Wonka in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," Ichabod Crane in "Sleepy Hollow," Mad Hatter in "Alice in Wonderland" and Jack Sparrow in "Pirates of the Caribbean."

A source from E! Online reported that "In November, Depp revealed at the AFI Film Festival in Hollywood that he was almost fired from the first movie of the Pirates of the Caribbean." It is reported that Michael Eisner, former CEO of Disney, once got mad at Depp in a meeting with Disney's "upper echelon" for almost ruining the film because of his drunk/gay acting.

When asked about his "gay" acting, Depp answered that all of his characters are gay. Depp expected to be fired that day and luckily he wasn't.
