Diclofenac Potential Cure For Cancer: Common Painkiller Has Positive Effects On Cancer Treatment

Scientists all around the world have been finding ways how to heal the number one killer disease on the planet: cancer. Now, new reports claimed that a new study found out a popular and affordable painkiller called Diclofenac could have positive effects as a treatment for cancer.

International experts from United States and Belgium has conducted the said study, which is under the Repurposing Drugs in Ocology (ReDO) project, and found out that Diclofenac contains anti-cancer properties which could be a possible aid in treating cancer.

Latinos Health reported that experts initially entertained the idea to test the medications that be common in any household. Luckily, they were able to discover that non-steroidal and anti-inflammatory medicines such as Diclofenac can help in the process of healing when used with other cancer treatments like radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

The researchers went over old medical records of patients suffering cancer who were prescribed to take the said painkiller after a tumor removal surgery. It was noted that Diclofenac has helped improve the patients' post recovery and strengthened their immune system.

Science Daily shared that the scientists of this study hope to further explore Diclofenac as a potential cure for cancer especially with the very fact it is affordable, readily-available, has low levels of toxicity and can be found in every household.

Despite this new findings, the researchers admitted that they have to conduct further study to prove their initial discoveries. "It's still somewhat surprising that there is still so much we don't understand about how many of the standard drugs we use every day, like Diclofenac, work," study author Pan Pantziarka stated in an AntiCancer Fund press release. "But the more we learn, the more we can see that these drugs are multi-targeted agents with interesting and useful effects on multiple pathways of interest in oncology."

At present, there are many ways to cure cancer. However, not everyone could afford it. Hence, the good sons and daughters of science are very diligent in finding more affordable ways to cure this lethal disease.
