Toys'R'Us Launches Tablet Computer for Children

The leading kids store Toys'R'Us has designed a tablet computer exclusively for children.

The seven inch tablet, Tabeo comes with 50 free kid-friendly apps and 20 games like Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja to both entertain and educate children.  Apart from these, the multi-touch tablet also gives children the opportunity to access and explore internet.

Tabeo also provides enough parental control and ensures online safety of children. The device allows parents to set different settings for different children- at least for eight different users, according to the age and content.

Parents can control and monitor their children's online activities through 27 predetermined categories in the device.  They can also fix a time for their children's internet activities. When the children try to explore a content not selected by the parent, the device will alert the parents through an email.

"Over the past year, we've spent considerable time talking to parents and children to determine what features and functions they really want in a kids' tablet, resulting in tabeo," said Troy Peterson, Vice President, Divisional Merchandise Manager, Toys"R"Us, U.S., in a company news release.

"We are proud that tabeo offers robust and flexible parental controls that can help protect children as they surf the Internet, and we are pleased to offer the tabeo App Store, which features only kid-safe content carefully curated by the Toys"R"Us team."

Cut the Rope, Temple Run, 100 Floors, Collapse!, Tiki Golf and Tiki Cart 3D are some other popular games included in the tablet.

The 10 educational apps in the tablet make children proficient in areas like math and science. Apart from these, the device also comes along with enough apps to entertain the user, such as photography and cooking; activity apps such as Putt Putt Zoo, Freddy Fish, the Stolen Shell and Camera App.

The tablet also offers an unlimited opportunity to children who love reading by including iStorybooks, Candy Factory and Little Red Riding Hood.

Tabeo, with a cost of $149.99 will be available at Toys"R"Us stores across the country from Oct. 21.
