'Biggest Loser' Trainer Michelle Bridges Under Fire Over Her Post-Pregnancy Workout Tips

Biggest Loser trainer Michelle Bridges has been under fire after sharing her post-pregnancy workout tips. Many health experts questioned her exercise advice, while others strongly urged women, who just gave birth, not to follow her regimen as they think its "irresponsible."

Michelle Bridges and her partner Steve 'Commando' Willis welcomed their baby boy, Axel, last month. But just three weeks after giving birth, the new mom revealed on Instagram that she's already keeping her heart up with her cardio exercises. She said her post-natal exercise routine includes 24 minutes walking and 32 minutes exercise.

However, many health experts disagreed to Bridges' post-natal exercise regime as they think that her tips could put new moms at risk of "pelvic organ prolapse (POP)." Some health experts think that her vigorous routine is "unsafe" to be followed -- putting the woman at high risk. Thus, others think she went "too far" while some even labeled her advice as "irresponsible."

According to 9NEWS.com.au, Women in Focus Physiotherapy Center is one of those groups and institutions that strongly criticized the trainer's advice. The medical center said that it's "concerning" that Michelle is encouraging women, who just gave birth to jog because strenuous exercise could only produce "more harm than good."

Other people who questioned Michelle's advice was Kirsten Joyner, owner of Pilates for Life. She said intense post-natal exercises can only decrease the milk supply for breastfeeding moms. She further added that women who are recovering from birth delivery can only put themselves at risk of "pelvic organ prolapse" if they will follow Bridges' running tips.

This is not the first time Michelle faces criticism over her workouts routine. During the course of her pregnancy, she was also slammed by many people after she revealed that she's practicing an intense exercise to stay fit. The expectant, however, defended her regime by saying being pregnant was "all the more reason" to stay sexy.
