'GTA 6' Release Date & Update: Speculations Claim That Game Could Be Released Before The Launch Of PlayStation 5

After the fans of the "Grand Theft Auto" (GTA) game series were disappointed to hear that the release of "GTA 6" could be delayed to 2020, new speculations and reports give hopes that the open world action-adventure video game would likely still come out in 2018.

The consensus is that 2018 is more plausible for the release of "GTA 6" because the current "GTA 5" version came out to the PC and gaming consolers in 2013. Five years of development would be enough to finish the new version and Rockstar Games, the game developer of the "GTA" franchise cannot afford a longer delay.

Even if Rockstar is the type of game developer that usually is not rushing things, the earlier the new game comes to the market the better would be for the game series. Rockstar Games has to maintain a good reputation and it always put a premium on quality.

Some earlier reports have speculated that the game developer would prefer to coincide the release of "GTA 6" with the launch of the next-generation gaming consoles from Microsoft and Sony.

Sony might release the PlayStation 5 in 2020, therefore Neorogadget speculated that Rockstar Games would also release their new game version "GTA 6" in the same year. This would ensure that the video games company could develop the game based on the specifications of PlayStation 5 gaming console.

However, Rockstar Games' track record shows that the company did not care much so far about the release date of the gaming consoles, according to Master Herald. For instance, in 2013 "GTA 5" was released on the PC, the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. Since the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One came on the market after the game was release, just one year later Rockstar launched versions of the "GTA 5" for the new gaming platforms.

The speculations go further to state that the game developer could just launch the "GTA 6" in 2018 without waiting for the Xbox Two or the PlayStation 5 availability. The company could just develop later on a version of the game working on the next-generation gaming consoles.
