“Cat Lady” Lynea Lattanzio Gives Her Home To Over 1000 Cats, Now Lives In A Trailer

Lynea Lattanzio, a 67-year old cat lover has given her five-bedroom home to more than a thousand cats she rescued. She now lives in a trailer on her property and allows her cats to roam freely through her house.

Called the "Cat House on the Kings," Lattanzio's home is now the biggest no-kill and no-cage sanctuary for abandoned cats. She and her volunteer team take care of an estimated number of 800 adult cats and 300 kittens, as well as of a few peacocks.

According to the Telegraph, Lattanzio started taking in cats way back in 1992. When the number of cats she owned began to increase, she decided to become a veterinary technician so she can keep the costs of her pets' medical care as low as possible.

Since the founding of her sanctuary, Lattanzio, along with her team, have saved more than 24,000 cats, as well as 7,000 dogs. In fact, they are also responsible for several thousands of animals being neutered and spayed.

A lot of people have labeled her as a crazy cat lady but she expresses that "obsessive" is a much better term to describe her. She says, "I'd rather have 800 cats than another man. I don't need a man in my life." And as to why she's obsessed with cats, she says that it's because "they're independent, they're beautiful and graceful."

Her huge house, which is now her pets' territory, consists of a kitchen where the cats are fed by her staff, a wooden stove room to keep them warm, a kitty garden to help cats used to the indoors adjust and a room containing beds and benches for the cats to sleep on.

As mentioned in the Mirror, Lattanzio now lives in a mobile home, which she swore to herself would be cat-free. However, she revealed that there are now 4 puppies and 20 kittens living inside.

And while she loves all the pets she has under her care, she hopes to find them new homes. Currently, there are over 500 "friendly and ready to go" pets who are up for adoption.
