Boys Hooded Jackets and Babies’ Bath Seat Recalled Over Health Hazard

Chinese manufactured hooded jackets for boys have been recalled due to possible risk of strangulation, states the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

Approximately 48,000 hooded jackets by 5 Star Kids Apparel were recalled saying that they have the drawstrings with toggles inside the bottom hem and neck area that might pose a great risk of strangulation hazard for children.

These jackets have the word 'Mecca' embroidered on the front chest and on its interior label. No injuries have been reported till date. The CPSC website requested the customers to return the jackets with the drawstrings removed for entire refund.

Apart from this, the CPSC also recalled the Thermobaby Aquababy Bath Ring Seats over possible risk of drowning of babies. They do not meet the necessary Federal safety standards. The bath seats have been reported as unstable because they can tip over, posing a drowning threat to babies.

According to the CPSC website, the product that is designed for children five to ten months old, is made of white plastic with blue, pink or green trimmings and has four suction cups on the bottom. The bath seats can tip over causing babies to drown.

The bath seats are sold on the e-commerce website Amazon for $35. The CPSC has advised  customers to stop using the bath seats and get in touch with the firm to return the product and receive refund.
