Parenting Tips You Took But Should Have Been Ignored

Parents want the best for their children. They took efforts to seek advice on how to mold their children to become a better person; however, some advice just led the things to go the other way around.

Parents cannot avoid the behavior of being so possessive, strict, protective and too concern for their children. You cannot even put the blame on them because they consider their little ones as precious and dear, that they get over really protected, or worst, such behavior leads to spoiling their children.

Here are some pieces of advice you should ignore because they just pull you away from your goals.

Consider The Youngest As The Baby Of The Family

She Knows suggests that even the youngest child can take part in some of the responsibilities inside the house. They can always put away their toys after playing. By emphasizing that everyone has a role inside the house, there will be no favoritism issues that may arise. Everyone will be given a chance to develop their sense of responsibility instead of giving all the burden to one family member.

Punishments For Misbehaving

This advice is often accepted when a child started misbehaving. However, according to Huffposts, all parents should try to think first before they act. Yes, you need to understand why your children are misbehaving. Establish an open communication where your child could freely talk to you about their concerns.

 Reward For Good Grades

Some family considered school as their child's work. Keep in mind that learning is an intrinsic process and it must bring pleasure to your children. Allow them to socialize with others and avoid enclosing them inside your house just to study, study and study. They need to learn outside of their classrooms and explore other environments.

Money For The Chores Well Done

Moms are not paid for food shopping, and dads are not paid for driving his children to school, and so children are not paid for setting the table or finishing the dishes. A family is like a ship that needs fueling. And everyone needs to contribute in keeping the ship going to somewhere better. Enjoy doing chores together as it could also serve as you family bonding time.

Keep The Reminders Button On

Parents said that reminders must be said only once then everything must be kept running into their memories. You do not need to say it again and again because it will just irritate them. Find a single word that would mean the whole thought. For example, if you want them to wash the plates, you do not need to say "please wash the plates before you leave" instead just spill out "plates."

Though it's generally true that being a parent is no joke as you need to have the skill and the passion of becoming one great mom or dad, it actually takes an "experience" to succeed this 24/7 yet a very noble profession.
