'The Exorcist' New TV Series From Fox: Plot, Cast & Release Date; Jeremy Slater Will Write The ScreenPlay

Fox has a new TV series and it is about to scare America as it going to be the remake of the famous horror movie, " The Exorcist." The network is now issuing a pilot for the series and Jeremy Slater would still be writing the screenplay.

The production company, Morgan Creek posted on Twitter before saying that they won't even attempt to remake the horror film. But they changed their mind since they would now collaborate with Fox for this project and there are now reports confirming that Morgan Creek would work alongside Slater.

There were some published articles by Movieweb.com about "The Exorcist" being a potential TV series even back in 2013. But during that time, no information yet was revealed about its final decision except that the whole project was still in negotiation with other networks.

For those who don't know, the story was inspired by a book written by William Peter Blatty. The storyline involves an investigation done by two men about a family dealing with some horrifying case of demon possession. The whole experience would traumatize them as they witness evil right before their eyes.

No news about the final casting has been out yet but all the names of the executive producers of this series are revealed. It includes Slater along with James Robinson, David Robinson and Barbara Wall, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed.

Slater is best known for his work in "Fantastic Four." Many are worried because that movie sort of flopped in the box office and it was written by Slater, but the studio is hopeful that 'The Exorcist" just needs a chance. It could be a long shot for being a hit series, but since the original story had a cult following, Fox is crossing its fingers that it will be worth the risk to release it as a TV show.
