‘Outlander’ Stars Sam Heughan and Caitirona Balfe Spotted Flirting on Set?

"Outlander" is one of the most successful series to ever hit the small screens. While part of the success of the Starz time traveler series is due to the great storyline from Diana Gabaldon's book, it is a known fact that Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe's chemistry brought in a lot of viewers. Is there more to their relationship beyond the cameras?

Caitriona Balfe, 35, and Sam Heughan, 36, are continuously plagued by dating rumors despite the fact that the "Outlander" stars have already denied these speculations. In a recent report from Celeb Dirty Laundry, a source who claims to be an extra on the set of the Starz series revealed that Heughan and Balfe were flirting with each other.

"Sam and Caitriona were taking a short break between scenes when I saw them off to the side, holding hands and Sam was even whispering in her ear," the insider shared.

The source went on and said that Balfe was often seen laughing at whatever Heughan was saying. The insider added that Balfe and Heughan "looked like an ordinary couple."

This rumored romance between Heughan and Balfe has been a subject of debate among "Outlander" fans. While some believe that Heughan and Balfe are just really good actors, others claim that their chemistry in front of the cameras speaks a lot of what goes on behind the scenes.

In an earlier interview with E! News, Balfe and Heughan denied sharing any romantic relationship with each other.

"We're not together," Balfe said. "It's funny. We've always said from the get go that we're incredibly great friends."

Balfe further noted that it would be "difficult" for them to be in a relationship, especially because they work together.

Heughan, on the other hand, joked about the situation and said, "Yeah, we could try..." Balfe, however, did not seem interested in dating her co-actor and said that it would be strange for them to date.
