Little Prince George of Cambridge has Beer Named After Him

Just three-days-old and the royal baby already has a beer named after him, 'Heir Raiser.'

Hertford-based McMullens Brewery launched a special beer named after Prince George Alexander Louis, first baby of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

'Heir Raiser,' four percent ale by volume, is described as a "light coloured, crisp refreshing pint with a light, hoppy finish."

"We are eagerly awaiting the birth of the prince or princess and as part of our seasonal brews we thought it would be ideal to wet the baby's head with. We've been going since 1827 and we've seen quite a number of royal births in our time and every royal birth is a special one," production and sales director Fergus McMullen told Drinks Business. The logo of the beer has a bird carrying a basket with a baby wearing crown visible over the top.

The drink is sold at the Duchess of Cambridge Pub opposite Windsor Castle. The ale has already been tasted by the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson.

This is not the only instance where a brewery has made special drink for the royal company. TIME reported that British brewery Castle Rock Brewery made a special 'Kiss Me Kate' English bitter-style pale ale.

Prince George Alexander Louis was born in St Mary's Hospital and is third in succession to the British throne. He weighed 8lb 6oz, at the time of the birth, a statement issued by Kensington Palace said. Parents Kate and William revealed the name of the baby Wednesday. The name 'George' was a favorite among the British Bookmakers with the odds of 2/1.
