What Women Can Do To Handle A Big Fat Negative (BFN)

Infertility is defined by mayo clinic as the failure to get pregnant despite having unprotected sexual intercourse for at least a year. It has always been a struggle for women who are trying to conceive (TTC) to see a single pink line on a pregnancy test. The pain builds up and could sometimes drive couple, especially women to be a completely different person. However, after the loss and disappointment, there will be necessary process to go through so recovery can follow.

Here are the 5 R's the will help you recover from the Big Fat Negative (BFN) according to Parents.com

Let it out. No matter how many times you tell yourself you're used to seeing the single pink line, it will always hurt you like a punch in the gut. It would make you feel enraged and just want to throw a chair out the window. And the good thing is you are allowed to do just that. It will give you the chance to release all the hidden anger and disappointments inside you that you need. If you're the goody-goody type, there's nothing a loud music won't solve.

Know when to stop. Women always think that becoming a mother can validate their womanhood. And for something so close to happen to suddenly disappear, it can turn even the nicest human being into the most bitter and angry person. They usually get angry at almost everything. It's not really bad to be angry, or to question the situation as long as you know when to pull the plug. Once you do, you can start focusing on more positive thoughts. This will help you find the inner peace that your mind needs.

Calm yourself. After letting the anger ouT, and recognizing what it did to the old you, it is now time to focus your energy in calming yourself. As they say, there is always time for everything. So after the worst part is over, the good part is set to happen. You have to come to terms with yourself and accept what happened because there is nothing more hurtful than knowing what is true, but won't really accept it.

Change how you think. The mind is so powerful that it can make you do anything it wants. That's why it is very important to carefully select your thoughts. You don't always have to relate everything to your loss, or to pregnancy. Sometimes, it's a good idea to go out with your girlfriends or spend some quality time with your family.

Help a soul. The way people cope with something will never be the same. Some cope by sharing their experiences to someone who's going through the same situation they've gone through. Sometimes it's nice to have a person tell you, "I know what you're going through, I've been there."

When you want something, you'll find every possible way to make it happen. You won't mind the pain, as long as it brings you to your ultimate goal.
