Ian Somerhalder, Nikki Reed Marriage: ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Actor Refutes Relationship Rumors with Nina Dobrev

Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are still blissfully in love with each other despite rumors claiming that "The Vampire Diaries" actor is still caught up with his former ex-girlfriend and co-star, Nina Dobrev.

Ian Somerhalder has spoken up and refuted rumors that he and his wife, Nikki Reed, are experiencing problems in their marriage.

"Every single day. Look who I get to wake up with," the 37-year-old actor told PEOPLE, according to Fashion & Style. "We're under kitties and dogs and it's just pure bliss."

Somerhalder also revealed during the interview that a person's happiness largely depends on his efforts towards seeing all the good things in his or her life.

"It has to be a conscious effort to wake up and recognize all the beauty in our lives. I'm grateful," he added.

Aside from this interview, Somerhalder also expressed his love for Reed on social media. According to the publication, Somerhalder and Reed recently celebrated their ninth month in marriage and the "TVD" actor gushed about his wife on his Instagram account.

"9 months of amazing marriage to this amazing human. Happy 9 months my one and only human - I can't wait for the rest. So many many many more to come and fill with memories. I love you," he captioned their wedding photo.

This may be Somerhalder's subtle response to the never-ending rumors surrounding him, Reed and his ex-girlfriend, Nina Dobrev. Celeb Dirty Laundry recently reported that Reed experienced a meltdown when the phrase "We Miss Damon and Elena" trended on Twitter.

Reed is allegedly jealous and insecure over Somerhalder and Dobrev's relationship and worried that the two might reunite on The CW series. The publication further noted that Dobrev regrets starring on "TVD" because it is where she met and fell in love with Somerhalder.

With Somerhalder's recent statements, it looks like these rumors will soon be put to rest. Fans, however, will always remain hopeful that "Delena" (Damon and Elena) will be back together, at least in the show.
